GUITAR AND DANCE
Over the years, I have been producing performances that dialogue contemporary music for guitar with other art fields. I always thought that hybrid activities such as dance and movement could improve the aesthetics of this repertoire. In Dance, I developed extensive work with the dancer and choreographer ROCIO INFANTE. This partnership resulted in important performances such as:

ROCIO INFANTE about Extended Technique Guitar
"Not just being focused on your instrument, provoking sound actions for someone to move, brings the musician a place of safety, rhythmic and sound experience that is different from a musician just preparing a piece for performance. Kampela's pieces - such as Percussion Studies - brought me a very large body vibration sound. The movement response was through the sound vibration that the piece provoked in my body. Showing the complexity of the score was very interesting, so that people could figure out that that sound was written in the score. Edino Krieger's Ritmata brought me this sound curiosity that Mario could provoke on the guitar, the sound and temporal spaces of the piece. Mario da Silva's work on the extended guitar is a place of movement, a two-way street."
